Can We Be Healthy In Drinking Coffee?

Over the two decades, several studies have been conducted to examine the impact of coffee on one’s health. Medical experts noted that moderate daily caffeine intake, about 300 to 400 mg or about three to four cups of coffee is not harmful. Caffeine, the main ingredient in coffee, is a substance that is predominant in coffee beans and it can also be found in some other sixty plants species, among them are kola nuts, cocoa beans and tea leaves. It is considered as diuretic, because it induces any coffee drinkers to produce urine.

Preventing / Coping Up Eye Strain

The most common reason why patients see an eye doctor because of their experiencing of some degree of eye “pain” or eye “strain” which in layman’s terms, eye pain simply refers to “any discomfort in the area of the eye. The following are some its possible causes:

a) Eye strain, which can occur when the eyes are overused, lack of sleep, stress, astigmatism(improper focus) or poor illumination while reading. Studies also has shown that most office workers who are exposed to prolonged use of computers, have complained of eye strain. Normal use of our eyes are design to shift focus between objects that are close and that are far away, prolonged focusing on a single object can caused eyestrain. This usually affect people whose work involves holding an object close to the eyes, those who read a lot or spend extended hours watching TV. Symptoms of eyestrain includes headaches, blurred vision, pain or soreness of the eyeball, red and watery eyes, dry eyes that feel scratchy, tired aching heaviness of the eyelids or forehead, backaches, neck aches and muscle spasm.

**On Global Warming

World Bank Carbon Fund sets up a facility for forest protection in poor countries. It would pay developing countries hundreds of million dollars and provide financial incentives to reduce greenhouse gas emission from deforestation. The facility has already attracted interest from more than a dozen developing countries including Indonesia, Brazil and several others in African Congo river basin. Deforestation contributes 20% of total greenhouse emission more than all the world’s cars, trucks, trains and airplanes combined.

Environmentalists, have encouraged the protection of tropical forests from cutting and burning which has contributed to the problem of climate change, the report said.

Coping Your Child With Attention Deficiency Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Just recently, a student was rejected by an international summer camp organization despite the academic qualification the child holds because he had been diagnosed with Attention Deficit with Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). He was feeling depressed and disappointed then because of that. However, with the word of moral support and self assurance by the parent towards her child, it can make a real difference as the parent did the right thing to help her child cope with a difficult situation such as this. Many times, parents are caught unprepared to deal with their children’s frustrations and problems in life. This holds true for many parents so that instead of helping, they end up either aggravating to the problem or feeling helpless themselves. What can we do to help children overcome with challenging life situations? The following suggestion may help:
