When going on a diet, one must also be mindful about the possibility of getting bad breath. This is because most diets are high in protein and low in carbohydrates. As such, the body when it is lacking in carbohydrates begins to use its own stored up fats in order to get energy and when such fat is burnt it causes the release of chemical known as ketones which causes bad breath.
