Typhoid Fever - What Causes It?

It is caused by Salmonella Typhi Bacteria, which only affects humans, the illness it causes may be mild or severe. Prostate Problems Anyone?

The prostate is an organ located inside the lower abdomen at the base of the penis just below the bladder and in front of the rectum, is just like the size of the pea. It can grow to the size of a golf ball in adults that surround the urethra, the tube through which urine and semen exit the body. All prostrate virtually enlarge with age since their old cells do not die of as fast as new cells grow.

Pneumococcal Disease, Now A Preventable Disease

Do you know that there are 1.6 million children and adults die each year as a result of pneumococcal disease (PD) among all age groups according to World Health Organization (WHO) . Of these, between 0.70 million to 1 million deaths occur in children under five years old. A symposium on Pneumococcal Vaccination was recently held in Korea, marking a significant milestone in Asia Pacific in the fight against childhood pneumonia. The summit intends to develop solutions in a collective effort to drastically reduce the incidence of PD in the region.

Preventing Urinary Tract Infection

The urinary system consisting of paired kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra is the second commonly infected by infection after the respiratory system. Maintaining the body’s internal environment within normal limits is the main function of the urinary system. Urine is formed in the kidneys and passed through a narrow tubes called ureters going to the urinary bladder where it is stored. When the bladder is full urine is excreted through the urethra.

Breast Cancer Not Only Affect Women But Men Too

Breast cancer can strike anyone, regardless of your age, gender, status and background, everyone is at risk of this deadly disease. It is the second most common cancer in the world, eight to nine percent of women will develop breast cancer during their lifetime. To women who has not yet attained menopausal age, the best thing to check breasts for cancer is shortly after menstrual period.

About eighty percent of breast tumors are found by women themselves. To examine themselves, women should lie their back and put one arm over or behind their head. Using three or four fingers, they should examine their breasts working from the outside-in. A possible sign of breast cancer is a lump or thickening in the breast or a spot where the breast skin is drawn in redness and discharge from the nipple are other warning signs.

Is Monosodium Glutamate Bad To Your Health?

The introduction of Mono Sodium Glutamate (MSG) to the food industry as a flavor enhancer was phenomenal because it is almost found in all canned and frozen foods and predominantly used mostly in fast food and Chinese restaurants. MSG may be a unique flavor enhancer to your food but too much dosage can cause danger to your health. Proponents of MSG however, has fought back when they claimed that it is just like anything else, it can be harmful only when consumed in large quantities.

Most people can use MSG without any negative effects felt, however others have their bodies severely reacted to the chemical substance. MSG has been linked to asthma, headaches, and heart irregularities. A nutrition specialist at Beijing United Hospital, affirmed that MSG may cause some individuals some discomfort after consuming but believes that it’s relatively safe.
