Shark Population - Facing Serious Threat

One third of more than five hundred shark species are threatened with extinction according to World Conservation Union. Many species of shark are facing a grave threat to their existence because of worldwide fishing trends. Fishermen used to cut the lines and let the sharks go, but not anymore because in recent years fishermen have kept the sharks to sell their lucrative fins. Shark overfishing can remove fifty to ninety percent of an entire shark species in only ten years, it is alarming but the projections were based on an ongoing study by the Conservation Union Shark Research Group.

Driver Fatigue - Most Underestimated Cause Of Accident On The Road

Signs of fatigue can seriously impair your driving skills while on the road. When you are fatigued your reactions are much slower, your ability to concentrate on driving is reduced and it takes longer to interpret and understand what is happening with the other traffic. Fatigue related crashes are often more severe than others because driver’s reaction times are delayed or they have failed to make any maneuvers to avoid a crash. Add fatigue to alcohol or speeding and it is a lethal mix.

X-Rays, CT Scans Should Not Be Used Indiscriminately

X-rays there’s no doubt can be extremely useful when properly applied on conditions like blocked coronary arteries, bad head injuries, a bone break and chest x-ray. On the other hand, x-rays can raise the risk of cancer if use indiscriminately without asking the patient when his last x-ray was done. Patients therefore are encouraged to ask critical questions before they undergo an x-ray. Patients can do something about it by asking their doctor to explain the necessity and the risks of an x-ray examination.

This is now better acknowledge by most doctors on their patient’s right in seeking other opinions other than theirs, to achieve the best possible decisions about their health.

Can A Left Brained Teacher Effectively Teaches A Right Brained Student?

The most intriguing and mysterious part of the human anatomy is our brain. It weighs about three pounds and yet it is more sophisticated than the most complicated computer that we have known around. Perhaps because artificial intelligence has a limited scope, compared to the human brain. It serves as our CPU but it is more than that because as such it has the ability to coordinate with our emotions, the abstract part of our human anatomy which computers don’t have.

Besides our brain has two hemispheres which we both used, but it is something of which part whether the left brained or right brained hemisphere we often and dominantly used most of the time. To know the nature of how we preferably utilize them, would determine which preferred academic skills and strength we are in. The brain works by which each hemisphere taking more activity different from the other.

Nicotine - A Kind Of Drug Addiction

Nicotine, a drug found in tobacco is highly addictive and it is addictive as heroin or cocaine. When smoke is inhaled through cigarette smoking, nicotine is carried deep into the lungs, then it is absorbed into the bloodstream and carried throughout the body including the heart, blood vessels, hormonal system, metabolism and the brain. Studies have also shown that nicotine produces that urge and the false impression of pleasure feeling that make smoker difficult to kick the habit and instead the smoker wanted to smoke more. By smoking, nicotine reaches the brain faster than drugs that enter the body through intravenous means It is for this reason, why quitting smoking is hard for many people.

Those with handicapped, who are suffering from mental retardation, autism and other behavioral disorder or learning disabilities need serious attention and care. These children may draw genuine sympathy and love from the people caring for them, they may also attract feelings of self pity and crippling hopelessness to those who feel sorry for having them. Whatever treatment you may give, these children need loving tender care and attention by their parents and care givers as well.

Solving Problems Through Our Subconcious Mind

Oftentimes one has to wonder how our mind works in solving problems whenever we are confronted with the same that requires immediate solution and answer in our daily lives. The difficulty of the problem is then measured of how responsive our mind in solving problems. Sometimes it can be solved instantly but most of the it takes time to get it solved. Firstly, we need to refresh ourselves on how our state of mind works. Our mind is divided into consciousness (the active and dynamic) part, while the subconscious as the keeper and registry of information and knowledge which then plays a passive role.
