Michael Douglas’ Tumor Disappeared After Grueling Treatment
The ‘Wall Street’ actor, Michael Douglas was diagnosed with throat cancer six months ago.
But after he endured a grueling treatment of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, the 66 year old star was given the news that his treatment had worked.
His wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones had failed to control her emotion as she bursted into tears when she learned that Michael Douglas’ tumor had disappeared.
“She had a good cry when she heard. I can’t tell you I was jumping up and clicking my heels. For me, it will probably be 2 or 3 months before it will sink in and feel good.”
The couple with their 2 children, Dylan, 10 and Carys, 7, had a low key celebration where they dined on oyster and toasted with non alcoholic cocktails.
The actor who had lost 32 pounds during his treatment is now on an organic diet to prevent the tumor from returning.
Catherine Zeta-Jones, 41 had thanked the medical staff that looked after her husband and according to her, it would be an incredible start of 2011 for them.
On the other hand, Harrison Ford, upon hearing the news is delighted to learn Douglas’ health improvement.
Douglas was diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer in August, and after six months of the treatment the tumor has gone.
