Tiger Woods Intends To Play Additional Golf Tour Prior To Presidents Cup

Former world no. 1, Tiger Woods intends to add more golf tournament prior to the upcoming Presidents Cup team competition in November.

Woods failed to qualify for the PGA Tour’s FedExCup playoffs after missing the cut at the PGA Championship.

Among Woods option are the Fall Series which will begin in Las Vegas on Sept. 29. There are four events in the Fall Series and the two most likely to attract his attention are the September 29-October 2 Las Vegas Open, where he won his first PGA Tour title in 1996, and the October 20-23 Disney Classic in his home state of Florida.

He also said he wants to be part of the Presidents Cup team in Australia in November although Woods will to have to rely on being one of two captain’s picks.

“I’ve had some conversations with U.S. captain Fred Couples, and we’ll see how it goes,” Woods said. “Of course, I want to be on the team. It’s always fun to play for your country, and we did pretty well two years ago in San Francisco. I’m just going to keep practicing and try to get better. It’s Freddie’s call, and he can make any choice he wants.”

Before last week’s Senior Players Championship, Couples made his own intentions clear as to what he expected from the rusty Woods.
