Bernard Hopkins Beats Jean Pascal By Unanimous Decision

Bernard Hopkins beats Jean Pascal and clinches the WBC light heavyweight title Saturday night from Montreal, with a unanimous decision.

Hopkins (52-5-2) became the oldest fighter and broke the age record set by George Foreman in a heavyweight title victory over Michael Moorer in 1994.

Hopkins won the light heavyweight championship at 46 while George Foreman won the heavyweight championship at 45. He now became the oldest fighter to win a major world championship.

“I won’t retire until I’m 50,” Hopkins declared.

Hopkins won also the WBC, IBO and The Ring magazine titles from the 28-year-old Pascal (26-2-1).

Hopkins next opponent is Chad Dawson (30-1).
