Rafael Nadal Moves Into The Semi-finals Of The Barcelona Open

Topseed and defending champion Rafael Nadal of Spain won over fifth seed Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 at Barcelona Open.

The Spaniard took just under 90 minutes to dispose his Serbian Opponent.

Nadal will be playing Spanish compatriot ninth seed Fernando Verdasco in the semi-final.

Second seed Andy Murray of Britain was defeated by Milos Raonic of Canada in straight sets 6-4, 7-6 (7-3).

Murray managed his only break in the 10th game of the second set to stay in the match, but Raonic breezed through the tie-break to seal victory.

The Briton improved in the second set pressurizing Raonic in the fourth and sixth games but again the younger player’s serve was too strong.

It took the Canadian to defeat Murray in 1 hour and 44 minutes, the biggest win of his career.

Raonic will now face Spanish third seed David Ferrer, who battled through to the last four with a 6-7 (4/7), 7-6 (9/7), 6-3 victory over Feliciano Lopez.
