Floyd Mayweather Jr. Wins Over Miguel Cotto In A Unanimous Decision

American undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. beat Puerto Rican WBA Jr. Middleweight champion Miguel Cotto in a unanimous decision at the MGM Grand Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Dave Moretti and Patricia Morse Jarman scored 117-111, Robert Hoyle 118-110 all the judges for Mayweather Jr.

Rounds 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 11 and 12 were al dominated by Mayweather Jr. while round 6, 7, 8 and 10 for Cotto.

It was the sixth title of Mayweather Jr. in six different divisions. Aside from being the WBC Welterweight champion, he is now the new WBA junior Middleweight champion after dethroning Cotto.

Mayweather jr. earns around US$ 32 million for this fight while Cotto taking the opposition and defending his title earns him around US$ 8 million dollars.

After his fight with Cotto, there were speculations that Mayweather jr. wants to fight Sergio Martinez next, the current middleweight champion after he has served his conviction that sentenced him for 3 months jail time starting June.
